What is Prayer
"The recognition of the Father within, the certainty of our Oneness with the Whole, the immediate availability of the Power and Wisdom resulting from this Oneness. Such communion with God brings harmony into our lives and affairs, establishes the law of health and prosperity, and makes us a light to all who cross our pathway."
Prayer is simply being still and talking with the God of your (own) understanding. God can be The Gaia-Mother Earth and Nature, Great Spirit, the Sun Moon Stars, Allah, Yahweh, Elohim, different Deities, Christ Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, the Universe, or Spirit. I honor all paths and religious beliefs and I use various practices to commune with my God. There are many forms of prayer and meditation, many teachings and practices. When we are the walking examples of love peace and joy and when we treat others kindly we are centered in the most powerful prayer of all. We are embodying the essence of life itself and all that is good. New Thought pioneers during the late 1800's believed that our thoughts are powerful and that we are tapped into a Universal force that can produce change in our lives. Affirmative prayer involves connecting with the spirit of God within us and asserting positive beliefs about the desired outcome. When we set intentions we are focusing on what we want to unfold in our life.
